Atomizing Spray Nozzles

WHAT IS ATOMIZATION

Picture two droplets, equals in size. Now, imagine atomizing one into a thousand smaller droplets while leaving the other untouched. Measuring the surface area of each “small droplet” and summing them up yields a total surface area surpassing that of the single large droplet. In essence, smaller droplets equate to increased surface area at a given flow rate – a canvas for more efficient heat transfer, heightened surface contact, or heightened reactions within a gas stream.

Understanding Air Atomized Spray Nozzles

Air Atomized Spray  Nozzles are available in a multitude of flow rates and spray angles and are available in multiple types of materials from 316L to PVDF  (for specific applications); with the addition of another fluid, often air, with the process liquid, giving rise to a  high‐velocity flat fan  or full cone patterns comprised of equally fine droplets.

Precision in Fluid Dynamics

Air atomized spray nozzles precisely control the balance of air and liquid pressure to create droplets as fine as 10 microns SMD, delivering consistent and highly controlled spray performance.

ATOMIZING SPRAY NOZZLE APPLICATIONS

Air atomized spray nozzles are used in myriad of of applications such as lubrication scenting, coating, moisturizing,  humidifying,  cooling, and gas conditioning. The precision of the nozzles lies in their capability to form droplets spanning the gamut from  fine  to incredibly fine in size.

Twin Fluid or Hydraulic Atomizing Nozzles?

As with many decisions, the answer resides in the specifics. Air atomizing nozzles often embody lower flow rates, measured in gallons per hour (GPH) as opposed to gallons per minute (GPM). Generating fine droplets through hollow cone nozzles can necessitate higher discharge pressures, occasionally scaling up to 2,000 PSI. Additionally, air atomizing nozzles demand the presence of a compressor or blower air. The choice hinges on droplet size, flow rate, and resource availability, all converging in the decision-making process.
