Hard valve "poppet" seals on relatively soft, elastic valve seat to resist abrasion !

A seat "absorbs" and "releases" abrasive particles.  Large sealing surface ensures reliability & minimizes stresses

Movement between valve assembly components is virtually eliminated !

To replace worn check valves all one needs to do is:

A.    Remove perimeter bolts and pump cover

B.    Replace check valve assemblies

C.    Put pump cover back on
