SIMPLEX STRAINERS
Simplex line strainers are available for pipeline sizes from ¾" to 42" in cast iron, cast steel, stainless steel, bronze, Alloy 20, Hastelloy B and other alloys. Simplex strainers are used for batch operations where the liquid flow can be interrupted periodically for cleaning. They are usually used for fluid system start-ups, emergency protection, infrequent fluid handling processes and other intermittent applications where the amount of debris in the fluid stream is small.
Why use a simplex strainer?
Simplex strainers offer up to three times the straining ratio of Y strainers, which means that they can take three times as long to fill with debris as Y strainers. Simplex strainers provide a cost effective way of straining intermittent process flows that do not require larger and more expensive duplex strainers.
Are there different types of simplex strainers?
YES! There are more than 14 different types of simplex strainer designs! Basic applications for 8" or smaller line sizes that require lower straining ratios and quick delivery (often from stock) can usually be satisfied with our model SC simplex strainers (http://www.fdpp.com or http://www.industrial-strainers.com)
