THE HOTTEST DESCALING NOZZLE ON THE MARKET JUST GOT HOTTER.....

INTRODUCING THE SCALEMASTER  !!

The Scalemaster nozzle was the first nozzle of it’s kind to provide mills with an extremely thin and stable "knife-like" pattern for efficient descaling. Scalemaster’s and theirSCAL HP PICT.jpg (7972 bytes) miniature cousins ("Mini-Scalemaster’s") were able to provide the same descaling force that our competitors’ nozzles provided at lower flow rates and operating pressures. This equated into higher impact per square inch and better use of their fluid resources when they replaced our competitors nozzles with Scalemaster’s.

Features of the New HP ScalemasterIt wasn’t long before "carbon copies" of this nozzle started to appear, however we just raised the bar in the descaling nozzle "war" with it’s introduction of the Scalemaster HP nozzle.

The design of our nozzle has been modified to provide even higher impact than before – the highest of any comparable nozzle available today. This new design has also dramatically extended the wear life of the spray tips by 2-3 times of what our competitors and earlier Scalemaster nozzles provide.

Designed in-part with thin slab mills in-mind because they want higher impact, The "HP" version (i.e. "High Performance") was designed with the following performance criteria in-mind:

Introduction of spray technology like this helps improve the quality of your descaling without having to make major modifications to your mill.

However, If you need to make modifications to your mill, why not get nozzle experts involved?

To use an analogy having to do with computers, you wouldn’t necessarily pick-out digital cameras, scanners, printers and peripheral equipment before getting a computer system?  In order to select a computer you need to have a feel for what you’ll be using it for, both in the short and long term.

The same applies for incorporating spray nozzles into your mill. It doesn’t make a lot of sense to select pumps, piping and header configurations prior to selecting the spray nozzles. The nozzles should be sized first and become a major factor in selection of equipment required to support the nozzles’ performance.

We like to get involved on the ground floor, helping to evaluate the descaling performance required. In addition to experience in mills all over the world, they use sophisticated 3D modeling software to determine nozzle selection, optimal placement and the expected impact.

Spray Impact Modeling

Narrow Footprint

3-D Impact Chart

Impact measurements show the distribution of impact over the spray area at a chosen distance. Critical factors related to impact measurement include:
  • Impact Distribution over the whole spray
  • Consideration of homogeneity
  • Spray depth
  • Spray width
  • Total spray force
  • Average impact

From there we can advise on the header design, feed piping, filtration and pumping requirements. As the pictures indicate, they’ll even manufacture complete descaling stands. The one shown on this page incorporates replaceable guides, chain-mesh openings and a special hardened liner that’s also replaceable.

What if you already have a system in-place but want to increase your descaling efficiency? Well, that’s where most of our customers fall-in and it’s even more important to get nozzle experts involved!

We has the experience and resources necessary to evaluate your descaling requirements and build custom descaling headers for your mill. We will come-up with the best combination of nozzle type and positioning based upon existing limitations.   Contact us today with your requirements and we'll get started right away!
