Sanitary Tank and Vessel Washing Nozzles

We have both stationary and rotating tank washing nozzles that meet 3A requirements, Standard Number 78-00. The 3A sanitary standards apply within the dairy, food, and pharmaceutical industries.

Teflon Whirling Nozzles Have the following characteristics:

Our whirling nozzles are designed for washing vessels up to 8 feet in diameter and rinsing vessels up to 25 feet in diameter.

Washing indicates how far the flow travels with sufficient impact for thorough cleaning.  This is a relative measure and gives a rule of thumb for comparing various models.

Rinsing indicates how far the flow travels and still rinses the wall of the vessel.  This will be a much softer spray but still retain the desired coverage characteristics.

One version of our Teflon sanitary tank/vessel washing nozzle is pictured below.  The nozzle is "clipped" onto the feed pipe.   Tri-Clamp and female threaded NPT versions are also standard.

Our Teflon Whirling nozzles are designed to provide high impact washing without the need for high pressure.  They are machined entirely out of Teflon material and can operate in any orientation (which means that they do not have to be hanging straight-up and down).

Keeping with the tradition of satisfying your requirements, we will modify their standard nozzle designs, supply them as part of a manifold/lance system and even provide you with the rest of the fluid package (complete with controls), depending upon your requirements. Most of the time a quick call or fax to our office will get you pointed in the right direction. You can also fill out our tank washing questionnaire on-line.   We may be able to provide you with samples for non-destructive testing & evaluation. Large tank cleaning machines can be leased for long trials or infrequent applications

Our latest Spray Nozzle Engineering Manual has several pages dedicated to tank and vessel washing nozzles.  Their brochureSanitary Nozzle Actually Spraying! describes most of the nozzles used for CIP systems, plus technical information on nozzle selection and performance.  Read an excellent paper describing the pro's and con's of various vessel washing nozzles, which can be viewed by clicking here.
