Industrial Fluid Handling Products for the Pulp and Paper Industry

Technical Products and Services, Inc. has specialized in the application and sales of industrial fluid handling products for more than 25 years.  Our complimentary product offering and consultive selling methodology ensures a cost effective solution for even the most complex applications.  In addition to being expert field agents for the product lines we represent, the manufacturers we've chosen to work with are leaders in their respective industries.  We tie the resources of all these companies together to provide a single source, systems oriented solution to your application.

Lechler is one of the worlds oldest and largest industrial spray nozzle and systems manufacturers. Their Pulp and Paper Products Division is tasked with helping customers choose the most efficient and effective spray nozzle systems for trim squirt, felt cleaning and head box washing.
STAMM self-cleaning showers can be used in freshwater, clear-water and backwater applications and offer considerable freshwater savings and low water consumption. The manual or remote activated brush rod assembly immediately cleans nozzles during operation.  Nozzles are easily removed for replacement, which is minimal due to the high molybdenum stainless steel that they are made from.

Wanner Engineering revolutionized the sealless pump industry over 30 years ago with the Hydra-Cell Pump.  These pumps are specifically designed for pumping difficult fluids such as hydrochloric & hydrofluoric acid w/lime, sodium hydroxide, sulphuric acid, spent caustics, corrosive chemicals, viscous fluids and reclaimed water.  In the pulp and paper industry Hydra-Cells are extremely reliable and low maintenance pumps for trim squirt and oscillating showers, knock off showers and chemical metering (Chlorine, Biocide, Polymer and Dye Injection).  Hydra-Cell’s are manufactured with 316SS, Hastelloy, Polypropylene and PVDF wet ends to ensure chemical compatibility. Conventional air operated diaphragm pumps, which are expensive to operate, often pulse and make precise metering difficult.  Hydra-Cell's smooth, non-pulsing flow enhances stabilization of spray nozzle performance.

AKO pinch valves are used in pulp and paper mills for handling
thick pulp stock and corrosive liquors with little or no maintenance or downtime.  Stock can contain knots, wood chips and debris, pulping chemicals, bleaches, pigments, additives and more. The viscosity can also be very low depending upon the type of paper being produced. AKO pinch valves are full-port, abrasion-resistant  and  reliable with only an elastomer sleeve in contact with the fluid.  Coatings can be quite abrasive because of materials such as clays, chalk, and aluminum sulphate found in them and wastewater contains corrosive chemicals, solids, abrasive debris and oils.  AKO pinch valves help mills reliably transfer this wastewater for reclamation and reuse.  Even red and black liquor that contains wood fibers, dissolved organic wood materials and alkali compounds are easily handled with AKO pinch valves.

Vector Pumps are roller actuated peristaltic hose pumps and are used primarily for transfer of viscous fluids that contain a high percentage of solids and grit as well as any number of chemical compounds.  The advantage that peristaltic pumps provide is that there are no internal valves, mechanical seals or other mechanisms within the pump to wear or maintain.   They are more efficient to operate than air operated diaphragm pumps and offer some additional flexibility in many applications.  These are typically operated with a standard electric motor, gear reduced and controlled via a variable frequency drive for precise flow control.  Vector Pumps have excellent suction lift capabilities and maintenance is typically limited to just a few hose changes per year. Typical applications include stock and liquor pumping, wastewater transfer and lime slurry dosing.

Factory Direct Pipeline Products Inc. is the largest online wholesaler of industrial strainers and filtration equipment with over
500 types of strainers and filters with more than 800 filter bags and strainer baskets to choose from.  In pulp and paper mills this equipment is typically used as suction strainers to protect pumps and spray nozzles from particles in reclaimed water.  Simplex and Duplex strainers as well as filter housings are manufactured from 316SS, polypropylene, PVC and CPVC to ensure compatibility with your fluid.  Evacuation covers and quick-connect chamber lids contribute to a cleaner, safer working environment.
