Industrial Fluid Handling Products for the Power Generation Industry

Technical Products and Services, Inc. has specialized in the application and sales of industrial fluid handling products for more than 25 years.  Our complimentary product offering and consultive selling methodology ensures a cost effective solution for even the most complex applications.  In addition to being expert field agents for the product lines we represent, the manufacturers we've chosen to work with are leaders in their respective industries.  We tie the resources of all these companies together to provide a single source, systems oriented solution to your application.

Lechler is one of the worlds oldest and largest industrial spray nozzle and systems manufacturers.  Their environmental and FGD products division is dedicated solely to the proper selection and application of engineered spray nozzles and turn-key spraying systems for applications such as wet scrubbing for FGD, lime slurry duct injection, mercury abatement chemical injection, combustion gas cooling, liquid fuel atomization and reagent injection (both SCR & SNCR).  Services include cold flow modeling, droplet trajectory and comparative spray nozzle performance analysis.  Innovative products such as the Twin-Absorb® dual orifice silicon carbide FGD nozzle provide
increased surface regeneration and droplet surface area.  This is accomplished in part by overlapping spray patterns with a single nozzle to enhance secondary atomization and arrest rotating gas currents.   The Twin-Absorb® provides these enormous operational advantages with a self draining and  clog resistant design.

Wanner Engineering revolutionized the sealless pump industry over 30 years ago with the Hydra-Cell Pump.  These pumps are specifically designed for pumping difficult fluids such as fly ash slurry, concentrated lime slurry, urea, aqueous ammonia and carbon slurry.  Their smooth, reliable operation enhances the performance of injection and atomizing spray nozzles.  Inlet fogging is another application for Hydra-Cell Pumps, as they can provide a smooth continuous pressure up to 2,500 PSI for efficient DI water atomization.

AKO pinch valves
are ideal for use with lime and coal slurries because the elastomer sleeve is flexible and will not allow scale to collect on the walls of the valve.  The shape of the valve changes as it opens and closes, breaking up solidified lime and allowing it to pass.  There are also no cavities or dead spaces in which lime could accumulate, and the resiliency of the rubber allows a pinch valve to attain a tight seal even around hardened pieces of lime or coal.  Pinch valves are ideal isolation and dump valves used in transfer systems where water-filled basins collect fly ash so it can be pumped out for collection and further processing.  Only pinch valves have the ability to cope with the abrasiveness of the ash without becoming clogged.

Sonic's high velocity blowers and air knife systems are revolutionizing dust emission control.  A single air knife can effectively remove all the fine coal, fly ash and lime dust that usually falls out of the conveyor cracks on the return leg of the conveyor belt.  These specialized knives are also used for cleaning vehicles and equipment.  When water is used for cleaning, air knives are used for drying, minimizing carryout. High velocity air is also needed to keep inspection ports and camera lens clear of ash and debris.

Factory Direct Pipeline Products Inc. is the largest online wholesaler of industrial strainers and filtration equipment with over
500 types of strainers and filters with more than 800 filter bags and strainer baskets to choose from.  In power plants this equipment is typically used as suction strainers to protect pumps from particles in river and lake water.  Automatic strainers provide much more reliable service and require less maintenance than large duplex strainers.  Automatic strainers enable filtering to lower levels for better control of zebra mussels and other pipeline pests. They are also used throughout the plant protecting spray nozzles from plugging, which enables them to perform within the required specifications.
