![]() ![]() | CONTINUOUS CASTING SPRAY NOZZLES Introducing the MCG nozzle, the ultimate cooling nozzle for HOT slabs, billets and blooms. |
Steel Mills, by their very nature, use large quantities of water for cooling and cleaning processes. There are huge environmental and monetary considerations involved in using, treating and disposing of process waters. Spray nozzles play a key role, as theyre used to meter and apply fluids efficiently.
Its a fact that even the best nozzle is practically useless if it isnt applied correctly. With over 20,000 different configurations and materials to choose from, the type of nozzles used and how to apply them are very important issues to consider. The nozzles chosen should ultimately determine the resulting piping, pumping, compressor and related accessories required for a given process. This is where Lechler gets involved.
As an expert in spray nozzle design and application, we have the knowledge and experience required to help ensure a successful system the first time around. Beginning with the process in question, our engineering staff will evaluate your application and determine the type and number of spray nozzles required. In addition to visiting your mill, talking with personnel and studying mill drawings, we utilize proprietary state-of-the art computer modeling software thats specifically designed for nozzle selection for cooling applications in continuous casters.
Once the required performance of the nozzles have been determined, the next step is to figure out how and where the nozzles should be applied. This involves the design of the nozzle, the location and way that they should be installed and extends all the way out to include the pumps and compressors feeding them. The rest of your fluid handling system plays a key role in the overall performance of your nozzles and process.
We tie all of it together, taking a "fluid system" approach to your application from the perspective of an experienced spray nozzle manufacturer. From the initial mill evaluation to start-up, Lechler will be there to ensure successful integration of optimized spray equipment into your caster.
The MCG nozzle is specifically designed for cooling of billets, blooms and slabs in continuous casters. These nozzles are designed to provide a consistent coverage at varying air/liquid pressures and have the highest free passage and spray density of any air atomized caster cooling nozzle.
