HYDRA-CELL™ PUMP APPLICATIONS

POLLUTION CONTROL

Hydra-Cell's™ are used by:
Coal Fired and Waste-to-Energy Plants, Steel Mills, Cement Plants, Pulp & Paper Mills and other industries that have off gases to condition
Wanner Engineering pumps are used to: cool gas streams by injecting atomized water through spray nozzles into ductwork or spray towers; "scrubbing" gases in spray towers by atomizing lime slurry; and  to inject urea and aqueous ammonia into boilers for NOx reduction.

Hydra-Cell's play an important role in condensing gas volumes to allow for increased production as well as helping manufacturer's meet the latest EPA and DEP emission requirements.  Lime Slurry Pumping for SOx reduction and pumping Aqueous Ammonia for NOx reduction are two very common applications for Hydra-Cell™ Pumps.  Other pumps have cups, packing, rotors/stators and mechanical seals that wear-out, resulting in leakage and (more importantly) spikes in gas temperatures and pollutants downstream of your spray nozzles.  Wanner Engineering's Sealless Hydra-Cell Pumps provide reliable service and will not leak.  They are also very compact in size, 90% efficient and provide a smooth pulse-free flow.

Beyond Slurry Pumping or Atomizing Aqueous Ammonia, Hydra-Cell's are also used for Hydraulic Atomization for Gas Cooling prior to the Turbo Compressor (Inlet Fogging), Flame Cooling within the burner for additional NOx reduction and supplemental cooling prior to a bag house or stack for controlling emission temperature.

The compact and efficient Hydra-Cell Pump is ideal for replacing troublesome progressing cavity, piston and multistage centrifugal pumps.   Hydra-Cell's have considerably fewer parts than other positive displacement pumps and have been designed to handle reclaimed and abrasive fluids.  Click here to learn more about Hydra-Cell Slurry Duty Pumps.

In addition to gas conditioning applications, Hydra-Cell's are used for dust suppression.  High pressure water is atomized into small droplets, which intercept fine particles and knock them down.  You'll find dust suppression applications along conveyors in Cement plants and Steel Mills, in the dumping areas and ash conveyors found at Waste-to-Energy Plants or anywhere else large volumes of dust create a hazard for workers and the surrounding community.
