HYDRA-CELL™ PUMP APPLICATIONS

CHEMICAL PROCESSING INDUSTRY

Metering and Transfering Applications in a Refinery

The Chemical Processing Industry has numerous requirements for pumps. Hydra-Cell's™ are used for applications that require accurate metering, a non-leaking design or higher pressures.

The Hydra-Cell™ Pumps' ability to run dry makes it ideal for fluid transfer applications and in some cases may eliminate the need for low-level switches.  They are often chosen for spraying fluids into boiler and flue gas streams to reduce harmful emissions.

Since Hydra-Cells™ are capable of higher pressures, they are also used to cool gases by atomizing water through special spray nozzles.
Hydra-Cell's™ are used by : Refineries, Chemical Manufacturer's, Natural Gas Providers and by companies that handle volatile, non-lubricating fluids.Wanner Engineering Pumps are used to: transfer viscous, hazardous and non-lubricating fluids, cool gases, treat flue gas, pelletize sulfur, fill containers and precisely meter fluids.

Outdoor Environments, Harsh Chemical Exposure, Noxious fluids that are Emissions Sensitive ...All Standard Applications for Hydra-Cell™ Pumps!

Why Are Hydra-Cell's™ So Reliable?
All rotating and sliding parts in Hydra-Cell™ Pumps are isolated from the fluid being pumped.  This eliminates the seals required in piston and centrifugal pumping systems.  Sealed systems are dependant upon the fluid being pumped for cooling and lubrication.  Non-lubricating fluids or fluids containing particles drastically reduce the integrity of seals.

Hydra-Cell Pumps Are Sealless!
The pumping chamber of Hydra-Cell™ Pumps is increased and decreased by diaphragms that roll on a built-in convolution - mechanical and metal-to-metal seals have been eliminated!   This enables Hydra-Cell's™ to pump hot fluids because they are not subject to different coefficients of expansion the way sealed pumps are - they can even be run dry!

Wanner Engineering's hydraulically balanced diaphragm system ensures no more than a 2 PSI pressure differential across the diaphragms.  Simply put, diaphragms remain virtually stress free whether they are pumping at discharge pressures of 50 PSI or 2500 PSI.
