Spray Nozzles for Gas Cooling & Conditioning Applications

Got Hot, Dirty Gas?
Request our brochure for information about spray nozzles suitable for applications in the CPI. You'll find nozzles for scrubbers, cooling towers, humidification, gas cooling and more, plus technical information on nozzle selection and performance.  We also offer two specialized brochures addressing gas conditioning and cooling applications, explaining how gas conditioning nozzles and systems improve efficiency, reduce waste and minimize maintenance and utility costs.  Products featured include our Supersonic air atomizing nozzle, the uniquely designed Spillback Nozzle System, air atomizing nozzles, fogging nozzles and hydraulic atomizing nozzles.

SOx Reduction - Eliminate the Guesswork !

We manufactures specialized spray nozzles and systems for gas cooling and conditioning applications. As we’ve stated several times throughout this site, even the best nozzles are practically worthless if they’re not applied properly. Placement of spray nozzles to cool or condition a gas stream is tricky – if not done properly your reaction time may be reduced or wetting-out the walls of a vessel can occur.  We use custom designed state-of-the-art computer modeling software to help select the proper type and number of nozzles required for an application.  Taking into account things like the inlet temperature, gas volume, size of the vessel and other key factors, We can determine the droplet size required and therefore suggest not only which type of nozzle that you should use but what air and/or liquid pressures you’ll need to operate at.

We can do this for both variable and constant gas volumes. Individual droplet trajectories for each droplet created by one of our nozzles can be modeled – as the droplet evaporates it’s mass decreases which effects its’ velocity and protrusion into the gas stream. The marriage of our spray lab and the latest in 3D virtual reality modeling enables Lechler to figure out exactly which type of nozzles to use and where they should be installed.

The Supersonic Spray Nozzle brochure entitled "Twin fluid nozzle lances for Gas Conditioning" describes patented atomizing nozzles. These nozzles produce a very narrow spray pattern and narrow droplet size distribution for predictable evaporation in confined spaces. Even the smaller nozzles for 3-6 GPM flow rates can pass extremely large particle sizes (0.3"), which is unequaled by any other nozzle design.

Spillback nozzles are hollow cone nozzles operated at high pressures to generate fine droplets. What makes them special is that the water volume can be reduced by as much as 90% without affecting the pressure at the nozzle tip itself [hence constant droplet size]. This isn’t accomplished with magic, rather a special nozzle design with built-in bypass line that takes advantage of the "flat" portion of a centrifugal pump curve. The "Spillback Nozzle Lances" brochure describes these specialized nozzles in detail.

Both the Supersonic and Spillback nozzles can be supplied with a single nozzle or a cluster of nozzles on the tip of a lance. We will evaluate your application and provide recommendations (along with supporting documentation of calculations used to determine heat transfer and other characteristics of the nozzles chosen) at no cost or further obligation to you.

In the end we will supply anything from just the spray nozzles to modular PLC pump skids. You can determine our scope of supply, but who’s better equipped than nozzle specialists to take responsibility for your entire spraying system?
