Something You Will Not Find Anywhere Else
"Pop-Up" nozzles provide a hollow cone spray pattern and are used for applications such as fire and dust suppression due to their unique protected orifice design. The orifice of these spray nozzles remains protected when not in use. Under liquid pressure the orifice opens and a 180 degree hollow-cone pattern develops.
   | Why protect the orifice? Sometimes spray nozzles can become clogged if they are not used frequently, especially if they are installed in dusty or dirty environments. The reliability of nozzles used for fire suppression and other critical applications is significantly increased if the orifice is protected. The pictures to the left show the operation of a pop-up nozzle. The unit pictured is a wall-mount design that has 1.25 NPT male connections on either end. When installed the orifice will be flush with the inside of the vessel in which it is installed. The orifice extends under liquid pressure. |
    | The next set of pictures shows our 1" x 1" NPT Stainless Steel version. This particular unit is designed to screw into the mounting plate as shown. The customer will weld this mounting plate to their vessel wall and then attach the pop-up nozzles. Without the mounting plate this particular customer's vessel walls would be too thin to install the nozzle. |
