WHY YOU SHOULD CHOOSE MCG CASTER COOLING SPRAY NOZZLES:

The best caster cooling spray nozzles just got better! Following are 6 reasons to choose MCG nozzle.
  1. The MCG nozzle uses a notch to assist liquid atomization whereas our competition uses a pintel design (which restricts free passage in the nozzle body and interrupts the laminar flow of the atomizing air). One of the biggest advantages to our notch design is that it provides increased surface area for atomization, which makes it about 10% more efficient as compared to the CasterJet. Refer to the following drawing.
  2. MCG nozzle tips are electrolysis nickel plated, which serves two purposes:
    1. Electrolysis nickel plating chemically binds nickel to the brass nozzle tip, resulting in a surface hardness that resists erosion better than stainless steel.
    2. Plated tips provide a visual indication of wear – when millwrights can see brass, it’s time to replace the nozzle tip. A nozzles’ efficiency decreases before it can be visually detected by a change in its’ spray pattern – Our plated spray tips eliminate the guesswork that is otherwise required.
  3. MCG nozzle tips can only be oriented in 180° increments, eliminating misalignment.
  4. MCG nozzles will provide a consistent spray angle and coverage for a range of operating pressures
  5. We will evaluate your air and liquid piping systems prior to selecting nozzles. This enables Lechler to calculate the air and liquid requirements for proper pump and compressor selection.
  6. We will customize the performance of their MCG nozzles to suit the specific needs of your mill and to minimize future labor and plumbing costs.

What if you already have a system in-place but want to increase your casting efficiency? Well, that’s where most of our customers fall-in and it’s even more important to get nozzle experts involved!

We have the experience and resources necessary to evaluate your casting requirements and build custom caster cooling nozzles for your mill. We will come-up with the best combination of nozzle type and positioning based upon existing limitations.   Contact us today with your requirements and we'll get started right away!
