![]() | BAG FILTERS AND FILTER BAGS Bag filters efficiently remove particles from as small as ¼ of a micron to as large as 800 microns. Usually bag filters are used to clean fluids so they can be reused, "polish" process fluids, recover finished product, or to minimize disposal costs. Tate Andale manufacture's many different types of micron and sub-micron filter bags, depending upon the requirements of your process. |
Why use a bag filter?
Bag filters are often used to remove small particles from fluids that strainers wouldn't be able to do as efficiently. They are not self cleaning or backwashable, so you'll often see bag filters used in series to extend the period of time between filter bag replacement.
Are there different types of bag filters?
YES!
We have 7 types of filter bag housings and more than 800 filter bags to choose from, that is the worlds largest selection! One of the largest variables with bag filter systems are the filter bags. Some are designed for specific types of fluid and others offer features such as multi-layers for filtering viscous fluids.
Our bag filters are described below, the links will open a new window at our e-commerce website, which contains additional technical information and pricing.
Model TL: Highest Quality. These are designed to handle flow rates up to 180 GPM and line sizes up to 2". Typical applications include the filtering of water, ink, petrochemicals, liquid foods, paint and pharmaceutical fluids. Its' chamber lid forms both the chamber seal and bag seal, therefore bags are easily accessible from the top and ZERO BYPASS can be guaranteed.
Model SL: Industry Standard. These are designed to handle flow rates up to 180 GPM and line sizes up to 2". Filter bags are housed in wire mesh retainer baskets that do not require a gasket at the flange. Typical applications include the filtering of flood water, ink, petrochemicals, liquid foods, paint, resins, solvents, molten sulfur, adhesives and pharmaceutical fluids.
Model FL: Lighter Duty version of the SL.
Model EL: OEM Filter Housings. These are designed to handle flow rates up to 180 GPM and line sizes up to 2". Filter bags are housed in wire mesh retainer baskets that do not require a gasket at the flange. Popular OEM strainers due to their light weight and relative inexpensive cost.
Model ML: Small Capacity Filter Housings. These are designed to handle flow rates from 25 to 75 GPM and line sizes up to 2". Constructed from 316SS they are perfect for lab sized and other smaller capacity applications as found in the food and beverage industries.
Model XL: Large Capacity Filter Housings. These are designed with 3 to 24 filter bags per filter housing to handle flow rates from 230 to 4,500 GPM. These are designed for applications such as centralized machine tool coolant systems, continuous caster cooling nozzle protection, and anywhere large volumes of water need to be filtered to fewer than 100 microns.
Model PL: Non-Metallic Filter Housings. Made from polypropylene and PVDF, our non-metallic filter housings use no metallic parts and are designed for harsh, chemically aggressive fluids such as acids.
